Anatomy Trains Workshop with Michael Watson
Limited Capacity filling up

This full day immersion will help yoga teachers and students alike learn anatomy in a holistic, relational, and practical way. You'll begin with a new way to map the body in terms of cells, the fascial fabric, and the neuromyofascial web that creates the foundation for a fully embodied experience of moving and breathing yoga. Based on the work of Tom Myers seminal book Anatomy Trains, this course teaches you how to identify common postural patterns, as well as strategies for cueing to awaken parts of the body that may need work. This course will introduce you to the the Anatomy Trains map of myofascial meridians, and from there you’ll travel from the arches of the feet and legs; to the fans of muscle around the hip, adductors, and the psoas; into an exploration of deep breathing involving the abdomen, diaphragm and the rib basket; along the springy spine; into how the the shoulders drape over the ribs; and ending with the neck, head, and jaw. This course invites us to explore the question of how are we shaped, and what shapes us.

Radical, Responsive and Ready! Creating a Just World Through the Practice of Yoga
Limited Capacity filling up

During the Asheville Yoga Festival in 2017, we began a discussion about the external cultural and political landscape and its intersection with the practice of yoga. Friends, these are dark times that require an even deeper dive into understanding how we got to where we are and what skillful actions we can take in response. No one can escape the effects of white supremacy, patriarchy and capitalism. It is time that yogis mindfully and actively engage in creating justice through the practice of yoga. Radical, Responsive and Ready will inspire you to change. Four yoga practitioners, Kerri Kelly, Chelsea Roberts Jackson, Carrington Jackson and Michelle will engage you in an exploration of the intersection of yoga and social justice. The session will include: a dharma talk, meditation, partner and group work, asana, and breath work. This moment is about you asking yourself to commit to creating a just world through your practice of yoga. We will guide you. Now is the time. Join us.
